hello, I AM Dr Ali taba.
I graduated as a medical doctor in Iran (I do not practice as a medic in the UK) and specialised in sex therapy and relationship counselling at the Porterbrook Clinic in Sheffield, UK. I then moved to Cambridge and obtained a PhD from Cambridge University, specialising in sexuality, sexual learning and education.
I am a graduate of the 2010 ESSM Oxford Sexual Medicine Programme, where I received comprehensive training in various aspects of sexual medicine. In 2012, I was awarded the title of Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM) by the Multidisciplinary Committee of Sexual Medicine (MJCSM).
I have worked as a sex therapist and couple counsellor in private practice (since 2009) and for the NHS (2012 – 2020) and Relate (2015 – 2020).
I am a Senior Accredited Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). COSRT is the UK's leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues, and the title Senior Accredited Member is awarded to 'specialist psychosexual and relationship therapists with the highest levels of expertise and experience'.
Along with clinical practice, I have been actively involved in education and as an educator and trainer. I provide consultation to organisations and programmes, healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, schools and parents on various sexual health and wellbeing issues.
